Maria de Guzman, designer (center) Davina Reichman, director, Roman Kajzer, photographer model booker & models On the 30 August, Australian Maria de Guzman presented her debut collection for New York Fashion Week at the Skyroom in Times Square. “The look this season is candy inspired for sugary sweetness!” de Guzman says. A collection of flirty party dresses, boasting bold colours in what appears to be an emerging SS New York Fashion Week trend, the show started with a series of striking candy coloured treats good enough to eat. Electric blue, pretty pink, vibrant orange, stunning scarlet– the gorgeous models strutted their stuff down the catwalk to the flashes of what seemed like a million cameras. The fashion show segued into a series of sophisticated elegant evening gowns, some featuring exquisite confetti-look lace, others festooned with tiny jewels. The 18-piece collection continues to showcase Maria de
Guzman’s elegant, fun and colorful style with sweetheart necklines,
curve-hugging bodices and dresses in vivid, bright hues.
